Changes to Air Waybill CompletionIATA Cargo Service Conference Resolution 600a Attachment B (Air Waybill: Completion, Distribution and Transmission of Air Waybill) have been changed and come into effect from April 01, 2004.
Current resolution requires either dimensions or volume of the consignment on the Air Waybill only when the volume weight is used as chargeable weight. However, this amendment requires dimensions or volume information to be inserted on each Air Waybill.
In this regard, NCA would like to ask for your attention and cooperation to describe consignment dimensions (or total volume of the consignment) in the "Nature and Quantity of Goods" box of Air Waybill issued on and after April 01,2004.
Please refer to the amended Resolution in Cargo Service Conference Resolution Manual, which requires following dimensions or volume information to be inserted in Nature of Quantity and Goods (including Dimensions or Volume) box.
|1.||the consignment dimensions, comprising the greatest length, greatest width, greatest height, unit of measurement and number of pieces,|
|2.||if a consignment is consolidated as one moveable part, then only the dimensions of the overall consolidated consignment are required,|
|3.||dimensions are not required for cargo tendered intact in authentic pre-built aircraft containers or pallets,|
|4.||if the dimensions are not available and/or cannot be included on the air waybill at the time of completion, then total volume of the consignment shall be inserted,|
|5.||if the dimensions and volume are not available and/or cannot be included on the air waybill at the time of completion, then this must be clearly indicated by inserting the words "No Dimensions Available"|
