NCA takes delivery of 7th B747-400F, "NCA Andoromeda"
Nippon Cargo Airlines (NCA, headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; President Tadamasa Ishida) took delivery of its 7th B747-400 freighter on May 29 (local time) from Boeing Corporation of the United States. The aircraft landed at Narita International Airport on June 1.
The following day, NCA invited staffs and their families to take a closer look at NCA Andromeda. More than 50 people examined the freighter and were given details of its capabilities. They were able to see the internal technology that has been incorporated into the aircraft, which few other people are permitted to see, and expressed amazement at the opening and closing of the cargo nose-door. Before examining the freighter, the visitors toured the NCA crew training center, which was completed on June 1, and witnessed for themselves the steady steps NCA is taking toward total independence in its operations.
NCA Andromeda departed from Narita International Airport at 08:00 on June 4 as flight KZ5008, bound for Amsterdam. In line with the 7th B747-400F becoming operational, NCA has increased its weekly flights from 38 to 43 as of June 2. NCA will continue to expand and improve its fleet in order to provide high-quality services to its clients and will further strengthen its network.
