NCA Wins Third "International Forklift and Pallet-Building Competition"

Nippon Cargo Airlines (NCA, Headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Tadamasa Ishida) was named the overall winner of the “International Forklift and Pallet Building Competition, Eheld at Hong Kong International Airport on January 11. NCA was participating in the competition for the first time and teamed up with New Tokyo Airport Service Co., Ltd. (NTAS), which provides ground transportation services on behalf of NCA. The team also won first prize in the pallet-building category.

This competition has been organized annually by Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (HACTL) since 2007. Eight companies participated in the third competition this year, with seven airlines drawn from Europe, Asia and Japan, as well as HACTL. Each team, consisting of four members, performed a series of operations to carry simulated cargoes containing heavy or dangerous goods, loading them onto a pallet and fixing them with a net. Participants competed on handling skills in two categories�E�forklift operations and pallet-building�E�after taking into account a range of issues, including operational techniques, safety levels and cargo loading efficiency.

By winning the first prize in this competition, NCA has been internationally recognized as an airline that offers air transportation services of the highest quality in the world. NCA has introduced state-of-the-art B747-400F aircraft to its fleet, and maintains a level of punctuality of over 90 percent, matching that of an express airline. NCA will make the utmost efforts to maintain safe operations and further improve the quality of its air transportation services, taking advantage of its mobility as an independent airline.
