Revision of US CBP charges ex Japan

Please be informed that Nippon Cargo Airlines Co., Ltd. (NCA, Headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Tadamasa Ishida) will revise its US CBP charges ex Japan with effective June 1, 2009.

According to US CBP (Customs & Border Protection) regulation, since 2004, all information related to air cargo brought into USA as well as in-transit air cargo is required to be transmitted electronically to AAMS (Air Automated Manifest System) at least 4 hours prior to arrival in USA. NCA is responsible to transtmit a complete set of HAWB information when customers do not transmit to AMS by themselves.

In order to share part of additional cost made by transmittal procedure, NCA charges customers depending on the way of supplying HAWB information; Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) or presenting documents which requires manual entry.

Aiming to encourage the method of EDI, NCA will revise the current US CBP charges as follows.

1. Amount of charges

          EDI           : JPY145/HAWB (decreased by JPY5)

          Document : JPY600/HAWB (increased by JPY100)

2. Effective date : Beginning with the AWB issued on June 1, 2009
