On 29th December 2015, IATA issued Notice to inform Dangerous Goods classification of small vehicle powered by lithium batteries. We would appreciate your attention to the Notice.

- Summary of Notice
- Small vehicle powered by lithium batteries must be declared as “UN3171 Battery-powered vehicle” and NOT permitted to be declared as “UN3481 Lithium ion batteries contained in equipment”.

- Definition of Vehicle
- Vehicles are self-propelled apparatus designed to carry one or more persons or goods.

- If there is a difference between these summaries and the IATA Notice, the IATA Notice prevails. Therefore, the IATA Notice must be observed.
